CapTech Volunteers Host Activities at Field Day for Children in Head Start Program in Northern Virginia
Volunteers from CapTech's Washington DC office located in Reston, VA will host a series of field-day activities June 24 for more than 200 children, ages 3 to 5, who attend school at the Northern Virginia Family Services (NVFS) Arlington Head Start location.
Ten to fifteen of CapTech's finest consultants, decked out in costumes for the occasion, will lend their guidance and support during field-day activities, which include balloon pop, soccer kick, bubble blowing, hula hooping, and freeze dance. The events are corporate-sponsored activities that provide entertainment to the preschoolers and a much-deserved rest period for teachers and staff.
NVFS is a non-profit organization that works to improve the lives of people in need in Northern Virginia. Programs include housing and shelter; anti-hunger; health and mental health services; early childhood services; legal services; workforce development services; and intervention and prevention services.
This is the third year in which CapTech has sponsored the NVFS Head Start field day, and the fourth year in which CapTech has partnered with NVFS. Earlier this year, CapTech participated in a Bowl-a-Thon that raised funds for NVFS SERVE shelter residents. Last year, CapTech consultants volunteered to help improve the NVFS SharePoint intranet site.
