CHALLENGE
Stoops’ existing platform required sales representatives to access multiple systems to place an order, which was time consuming and challenging when using a tablet in the field. To make its sales process more efficient, Stoops brought in CapTech to implement a Salesforce solution that utilizes Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to integrate third party systems and improve order efficiency, freeing the sales team to focus on providing better customer service.
APPROACH
The CapTech team developed a responsive solution by building a Lightning Web Component that utilizes the Salesforce Lightning Design System to ensure responsiveness across phone, tablet, and desktop to increase field efficiency.
API calls were implemented to integrate with third party systems to retrieve data on parts, customer-specific pricing, and availability. The CapTech team also replicated eCommerce functionality to adjust pricing, add/remove items from a cart, and easily send an order.
To streamline order processing and eliminate manual processes, the team developed functionality to pass orders via automated email to the processing department.
The resulting system also offers options for further integrations and value streams like re-ordering, universal part search, and order tracking in Salesforce.
