Building excitement and engagement around the potential of generative AI was key, so they asked CapTech to help drive the initiative forward by building an internal marketing campaign to energize employees.
Challenge
Markel invested in Microsoft 365 Copilot to help their employees unleash creativity, boost productivity, and uplevel skills across the board. Before deploying Copilot to the whole company, they started with a 300-user pilot, which wasn’t seeing a lot of traction. To ensure successful adoption for the company-wide roll-out, they tapped CapTech to maximize awareness and usage.
Approach
To facilitate the adoption of Copilot and help employees understand the full spectrum of its capabilities, CapTech produced a video that engaged directly with staff, encouraging buy-in and usage. Featuring interviews with key stakeholders and fully animated demos, the video illustrated how Copilot can integrate into daily workflows to enable everyone in the organize to save hours per week. CapTech also created email templates for sharing the video and case studies that highlighted the most successful M365 Copilot use cases.
To streamline adoption and set everyone up for success, CapTech developed a comprehensive governance, change management, and adoption plan for the rollout of M365 CoPilot to the full organization. CapTech also embedded an engineering team to further explore and develop customized AI solutions leveraging full gamut of Microsoft AI tooling.
Results
Copilot was quickly adopted across Markel, with users across lines of business reporting increased productivity. They utilized Microsoft's tools to monitor usage and conducted surveys to assess the productivity gains, which showed a substantial lift in hours saved per week on an individual basis. Based on the successful pilot, Markel accelerated its purchase of Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses for its 4000+ global associates.
