CapTech's Atlanta Office: Growing, Moving, and Giving

What are you most excited about as we go into 2017?

Now that CapTech has gained some name recognition in the Atlanta market, I'm excited about the high-level of talent we are attracting - which in turn results in excellent work for the clients we are serving. We expect to hire an additional 25 - 30 creative and IT consultants for the Atlanta office in 2017. Because of the expansion, I'm excited that we will be moving into new office space by mid-year.

I'm also energized by the progress we've made in building a foundation of project work across many of the Fortune 500 companies in the Atlanta market, and our growing relationships with the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.

Early in 2017 we will be sponsoring the DevNexus Conference. The conference takes place Feb. 22-24 in Atlanta and is one of the largest developer conferences in the United States.

What is special about the culture in your office?

Every consultant in the Atlanta office has an entrepreneurial spirit. Our team wants to be part of growing something special and unique, both in Atlanta and in the consulting industry. The office is committed to community service, training and development, and doing whatever it takes to ensure that CapTech Atlanta is successful. Some of our team building outings include coming together for wine-tastings, trivia night, fantasy football and the escape-room challenge.

How does your office work to be a community partner?

In September, we hosted a panel discussion, "Java Microservices in the Cloud," at TechSquare Labs of Atlanta. CapTech thought leaders led a discussion regarding the use of microservices, how Java plays into microservices, and what is required to build robust microservices with Java-with effective deployment in the cloud.

We also began our relationship with Community Consulting Teams in 2016, which facilitated the pro bono work we completed for the Shepherd Center. The Shepherd Center is a not-for-profit hospital specializing in the medical treatment, research, and rehabilitation for people with spinal cord and brain injuries. We were engaged to assist in defining a five-year strategy to ensure the long-term success of the program and develop new tactics to attract volunteers and donors.

In 2017 we will be donating our time to two additional projects for Community Consulting Teams. One project involves Usher's New Look and the other involves the Midtown Assistance Center. Both projects kick off in February.

During the past year, we participated with the non-profit enAble Georgia in several beautification projects for homes for special-needs residents. In November, we raised more than $8,000 for the non-profit Covenant House, which provides temporary housing and support services to homeless youth. Members of our team participated in the annual Sleep Out and spent time at their local center. We plan to continue our volunteer and support efforts with Covenant House in 2017.

In addition, we've been working with the Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation, which provides college scholarships to young African-Americans. I'm excited to sit on the planning committee for the foundation's annual fundraising event, and proud that our Atlanta office built the Web site for the event.
