Two Design Consultants from CapTech's Customer Experience (CX) practice, Laura Lee Boykin and Christian Dixon, will be volunteer mentors at the Virginia Commonwealth University's CreateAthon onCampus this Thursday and Friday, March 9-10. CreateAthon is a 24-hour marathon that provides pro bono marketing and communications services to nonprofits that cannot afford them otherwise.

Both Christian and Laura Lee, as former CreateAthon onCampus student participants and leaders, continue the cycle of mentorship by working directly with VCU students to aid with their projects from ideation and brainstorming to execution and final polishes.

In Laura Lee's own words, "CreateAthon was something I was involved in as an undergrad at VCU… I'm now excited to return as a mentor to not only continue to support nonprofits and my alma mater, but also to continue to spread the word about CapTech's growing presence in the creative community." Similarly, Christian is looking forward to being able to "push, inspire, and pull up others just as I was while making sure we build back up the [VCU] community who makes all this possible."

Since its inception in 2007, CreateAthon onCampus has given students the opportunity to participate in a deep, meaningful, service-learning program, engaging students in philanthropic work through hands-on experience and classroom learning. Currently, CreateAthon at VCU serves more than 90+ Richmond non-profits, generating work valued at more than $1.6 million.
