CapTechers were excited to participate in – Face of America on the weekend of April 23rd. The 110-mile and two-day biking event spanned from Arlington, VA to Gettysburg, PA honors men and women who were wounded or disabled while in service to their nation by giving them an opportunity to share in a unique sporting event with able-bodied service members and citizens. The annual event hopes to raise $500k each year to provide support services for disabled vets.
CapTech recently heard about Face of America through one of our clients, and many CapTechers were eager to sponsor our client's team in support of the veterans. One CapTecher, Jeff Kelley, chose to participate in the ride and shared some wonderful observations: "Cyclists who are able can provide support to disabled riders by pushing their recumbent and hand bikes when they need a little extra to get over some of the larger hills. It creates a great bond between riders and turns what is otherwise an individual ride into a shared challenge." The word about Face of America is spreading fast through CapTech, and many of us our now excitedly looking forward to riding in next year's event!
