CapTech Partners with Amy's Army by Providing Technology Solutions for C3 Cycling Event to Raise Cancer Research Funding

CapTech

For the second year in a row, CapTech has partnered with Richmond-based, Amy's Army of Cancer Warriors ─ a non-profit dedicated to raising awareness about cancer research and prevention ─ to provide technology support and solutions for their Climb to Conquer Cancer (C3) cycling event on September 23, 2018.

Amy's Army of Cancer Warriors is committed to advancing life-saving, groundbreaking cancer research at VCU Massey Cancer Center. The C3 event provides competitive cyclists the opportunity to ride challenging courses and compete for prizes, while raising money for VCU Massey Cancer Center. Massey is among the top 4 percent of cancer centers in the country and is one of two in Virginia designated by the National Cancer Institute to lead and shape America's cancer research efforts.

CapTech created a custom leaderboard application to track each cyclist's time up the Libby Hill segment; a major feature in the 2015 UCI World Championship race held in Richmond. By integrating a chip-tracking and timing solution into the leaderboard application, CapTech will deliver accurate results determining winners of the King of the Mountain (KOM) and Queen of the Mountain (QOM) for the Libby Hill climb. CapTech's contribution to this event also includes audio/visual support for the day of event, marketing video production, and more.

"By providing technology solutions for Amy's Army, we are contributing to an extraordinary event that will help with cancer research and prevention," says Dean Rafferty, CapTech. "We hope to build upon the success of last year's event and help support Amy's Army goal to conquer cancer."
